For the past year or so, I've been in a similar boat to my brides and grooms; I've been planning my own wedding! To be on the other side of things is a little strange, but I'm loving the planning process. One of the trickier aspects of marriage is deciding what to do with your name. My partner Matt and I made the decision to change our names with our new name being a double barrelled creation of his name and another family name. What to do about my business name seemed, on the face of it, simple with only two choices, but ended up taking hours of back and forth. I could keep my current name for my business or I could change my business name.
I don't want to create the disconnection between my personal life and business name; I'm so personally invested in each and every wedding and love to get to know my couples, so I want to keep that authentic feeling of my business having my very own name. For that reason I've decided to make the switch.
I've been working with Joyce of Artsy Nibs on a new logo design which I'm really excited about. Joyce has been absolutely fantastic, being able to transfer onto paper all the thoughts in my head.
Everything will be changing over to my new name in the new year, so from then on I'll be known as Leah Lombardi!
