Working in the wedding industry I’ve met and worked with so many strong, inspiring women. Not only do I work alongside some incredible women, my brides are also so inspiring. I love getting to know them and seeing the diversity - business owners, bloggers, mothers, doctors, lawyers, businesswomen, artists. On International Women’s Day let’s celebrate the inspirational women in our lives. Let’s work together and celebrate our successes and help each other through our difficulties. Let’s be each others’ loudest cheerleaders! I’m so grateful to have these amazing women in the industry.
I want to celebrate some of the amazing brides and suppliers I've worked with in this industry. The wedding world wouldn't be half as much fun without them!
I've worked with Jessica a few times and each time I've been wowed by her creativity and talent. Her dresses are spectacular - I can't believe the things she manages to do with fabrics!
Joyce is an incredibly talented calligrapher. I first met Joyce when I asked her to design my logo for me and I was so in love with her work. Since then, we've worked together on projects and also met up for regular cups of coffee and French toast. Not only do I work with Joyce on professional projects, she also did all of the calligraphy for my wedding!
Sasha's flowers are INSANE. Her flowers are the most incredible works of art and I'm alway so excited to see what she comes up with. Her use of colour is amazing and you know you're going to get an awesome, creative floral set up when you work with her.
I met Jenna on Twitter when she was looking for people to be involved in a styled shoot in Suffolk. I've been on two shoots with her now and love spending time with her. Her creativity and empowering vibes are contagious!
I've worked with Bekka a couple of times in styled shoots. She's so cool and fashionable and her bridal boutique is perfect for brides with a bit of edge and are after something a bit different.
Stephanie is always so supportive and is always up for anything - such a wonderful creative energy to be around! Her dresses are also gorgeous, so that helps.
I couldn't finish this blog without discussing my second shooter Jenn. We met years and years ago at a fashion event at a vintage boutique when neither of us were doing wedding photography. When I was trying to find the perfect second shooter, I realised that Jenn would be perfect! Luckily she wanted to shoot for me and I love that we see things the same way and capture things in a similar way. Also, how lucky am I that I get to work with my friend?!
My job wouldn't be what it is without all the amazing brides I meet and work with. I love learning about them, their partners and their families. Stories and connections are what makes this work so worthwhile!
